Salvaging in the Garden
Yesterday I spent several hours doing clean-up in the garden. There were quite a few things that were beyond rescue (tons of squishy, mushy tomatoes), but, on the other hand, there was and is still plenty worth harvesting.
I gathered some beets and carrots and left some out there for another day, they don’t mind the cold. And I harvested tons of herbs, barely making a dent in most of the precocious plants. Behold, herbs (lavender, rosemary, thyme, french thyme, lemon thyme, sage, pineapple sage and tarragon):
I also cut down whole plants of chili peppers and was able to gather enough flowers to make a small (very unruly) bouquet:
Now that the herbs are washed and dried, they will be hung with twine in the window, along with the chilies. There is one more, huge, chili plant to harvest, but it has to wait until I have more space.
